Diary of a New Business: To Do Lists
This is hard.
It’s incredibly exciting and enjoyable, but it’s hard. Especially since I’m doing this part-time. Sure when you’re full time you have all day/week to sort through your to-do lists, but I have only a few hours each evening and my weekends to address items. And I have to have a life beyond that! So I’m sorry, I’ve been busy and have been kind of “checked out” of blogging/internet for a little while. The to do list keeps getting longer.
Money also has an influence. I refuse to take out a credit card or loan to start this thing up. So whatever I make is going back into the business start up. I’m lusting after a huge Mac at my local Best Buy, but I don’t have the $1,700 to make it mine. My laptop will have to suffice for now.
But back to to-do lists. Right now mine looks a bit like this:
- Christmas presents
- Puppy pictures require attention
- Job: Office Christmas party on Friday
- Job: family session on Sunday
- Get up the guts to actually send quote for a wedding next fall
- pay for full SmugMug subscription since my trial expires tomorrow…eeek!
- order business cards
- Rework blog/website to incorporate business
- get my ducks in a row before I officialize my business after the start of the year.
It’s official. I don’t have time for Christmas.
I have made some developments though, and they keep me going.
- Create SmugMug page: Check it out!
- Create logo and watermark: You can see the logo if you check out my smugmug site. Keep your eye out for the water mark on future photos
- Create pricing structure: Though after a few sessions I may have to rethink it, in a good way
- Bought the nifty fifty lens! Yes the 50mm f/1.4G is mine all mine. No more renting
So I’m sorry I’ve been quiet, but there are lots of things in the works, I promise!
